5-star wing Josh Green commits to Arizona

Five-star wing Josh Green has committed to the Arizona Wildcats, he announced Thursday on Twitter.

Green chose the UA over North Carolina, Kansas, Villanova, USC and UNLV. He joins five-star point guard Nico Mannion and three-star center Christian Koloko in UA’s 2019 recruiting class, which now ranks No. 8 in the country.

The 6-foot-6 Green is the No. 10 player in the 2019 class and No. 3 small forward, per 247Sports composite ranking.

Green attends IMG Academy in Florida but attended Glendale Mountain Ridge and Phoenix Hillcrest Prep his first two years of high school. He is AAU teammates with Mannion and the relationship between the two was undeniably a factor in this recruitment.

Green is originally from Sydney, Australia and here is what ESPN’s Jonathan Givony wrote about him after he attended NBA Global Camp this past summer:

The 6-6 strong-framed combo guard is a tremendous athlete who shows great versatility as a ball handler, passer and defender, even if his outside shot remains a work in progress. This is his third appearance in front of NBA executives in the past four months. While the recruiting services don’t appear to share the same level of enthusiasm for his talent level as NBA scouts, Green is building an outstanding résumé for himself as a potential lottery pick heading into the 2020 draft

Green is set to take his official visit to Arizona on Oct. 12 and is expected to be in attendance at the Red-Blue Game with Mannion. Five-star forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl will be there, too.

Maybe Arizona can swing another commitment?
