Arizona Wildcats in the NFL: Reggie Gilbert continues to make a major impact

The UDFA continues to solidfy his role

We are back this week to check in on the former Arizona Wildcats in the NFL.

We will also post the results from last week to keep everyone up to date. The majority of the players were in action with multiple continuing to make major impacts for their teams.

Let’s look how the former Wildcats performed this past weekend.

Dane Cruikshank, DB, Tennessee Titans

Result: Home victory against Philadelphia, 26-23

Game Stats: None

Week 3 Stats: 1 tackle in 9-6 win over Jacksonville

Season Stats: 4 tackles; 1 rec, 66 yds, 1 TD

Game Notes: Cruikshank did not record any stats in Tennessee’s overtime victory over the Eagles. Last week, he recorded one tackle in the Titans’ low-scoring win over the Jags.

Next Game: @ Buffalo, Oct 7th

Marquis Flowers, LB, Detroit Lions

Result: Road loss to Dallas, 26-24

Game Stats: None

Week 3 Stats: 1 tackle in 26-10 victory against New England

Season Stats: 2 tackles

Game Notes: Flowers played against the Cowboys but did not record any stats. Last week, he recorded one tackle against his former team, the Patriots.

Next Game: vs Green Bay, Oct 7th

Nick Foles, QB, Philadelphia Eagles

Result: Road loss to Tennessee, 26-23

Game Stats: None

Week 3 Stats: None in 20-16 victory over Indianapolis

Season Stats: 54-for-82, 451 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT; 4 car, 7 yds, 0 TD

Game Notes: Foles has not played since Carson Wentz returned in Week 3.

Next Game: vs Minnesota, Oct 7th

Reggie Gilbert, LB/DE, Green Bay Packers

Result: Home victory over Buffalo, 22-0

Game Stats: 4 tackles, 1.0 TFL, 1.0 sack

Week 3 Stats: 2 tackles in 31-17 loss to Washington

Season Stats: 9 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks

Game Notes: Gilbert continues his strong perfomance this season. He finished Sunday’s game with a season-high four tackles and his first full sack of the season on rookie Josh Allen. I’m sure Green Bay is absolutely loving their decision to give Gilbert his chance.

Last week, he finished the Packers’ loss to the Redskins with two tackles.

Next Game: @ Detroit , Oct 7th

Rob Gronkowski, TE, New England Patriots

Result: Home victory against Miami, 38-7

Game Stats: 4 rec, 44 yds, 0 TD

Week 3 Stats: 4 rec, 51 yds, 0 TD in 26-10 loss to the Detroit Lions

Season Stats: 17 rec, 233 yds, 1 TD

Game Notes: Gronk hasn’t been putting up his usual numbers this season. Having Josh Gordon on the outside should help open him up some more and increase those stats. He is questionable (day-to-day) with an ankle injury this week.

Next Game: vs Indianapolis, Oct 4th

Earl Mitchell, NT, San Francisco 49ers

Result: Road loss to Los Angeles Chargers, 29-27

Game Stats: 2 tackles and 1.0 TFL

Week 3 Stats: 1 tackle in 38-27 loss to Kansas City

Season Stats: 9 tackles and 1.0 TFL

Game Notes: Mitchell is consistently making plays and being disruptive along the defensive line for the 49ers. He picked up his first tackle for a loss on Sunday in San Fran’s surprising loss to the Chargers.

Next Game: vs Arizona, Oct 7th

Will Parks, S, Denver Broncos

Result: Home loss to Kansas City, 27-23

Game Stats: None

Week 3 Stats: 2 tackles in 27-14 loss to Baltimore

Season Stats: 4 tackles

Game Notes: Parks played against the Chiefs but didn’t record any stats. He did show some really nice coverage skills though and covering the Chiefs’ receivers is no easy task.

Next Game: @ New York Jets, Oct 7th

Brooks Reed, DE, Atlanta Falcons

Result: Home loss to Cincinnati, 37-36

Game Stats: 1 tackle

Week 3 Stats: None in 43-37 loss to New Orleans

Season Stats: 2 tackles

Game Notes: Reed continues to have a quiet season. He only recorded one tackle against the Bengals, only his third of the year.

Next Game: @ Pittsburgh, Oct 7th
