Kobi Simmons continues to tear up NBA Summer League.

A day after dropping 21 points, Simmons scored 20 points in the Memphis Grizzlies’ 95-92 win over the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City.

The ex-Wildcat was 8-for-18 from the field Tuesday and grabbed five rebounds. Simmons did not record an assist, but he didn’t have a turnover, either.

Simmons is now 16-of-31 from the field through two Summer League games. Memphis is 2-0.

Simmons has a two-way contract, meaning he splits time between the NBA and G League and cannot spend more than 45 days in the NBA.

However, those contracts can be converted into a standard NBA minimum-salary deal at the team’s discretion.

The way Simmons is playing this summer, the Grizzlies — one of the NBA’s worst teams — might opt to do that so they can make him a full-time rotation piece and not have to worry about the 45-day limit.

While Simmons was limited to 32 games with the Grizzlies last year, he averaged 6.1 points per game, including a 20-point outing against the Detroit Pistons, and it would be interesting to see what he could do in a more stable role.
