Josh Jackson wants Suns to draft Deandre Ayton

“His ceiling is through the roof”

The Phoenix Suns have over a month to decide who they want to select with the No. 1 overall pick, but Josh Jackson already has his mind made up.

He wants Deandre Ayton.

“I would like to see us get a big man, and I think the best big man in this draft is probably Deandre Ayton if you ask me,” the Phoenix forward said (via azcentral).

“It’s the guy, I think he’s got so much potential. Like I said, I watched him in high school and every year I watched him add a little bit something more to his game. His ceiling is through the roof.”

Jackson was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft and represented the Suns at Tuesday’s draft lottery.

A wing duo of Jackson and Devin Booker along with a generational big man like Ayton is exciting to think about for Suns fans, but uber-talented Slovenian forward Luka Doncic is expected to be in consideration for the No. 1 pick as well. Especially since new Suns head coach Igor Kokoskov coached Doncic on the Slovenian national team when it won EuroBasket in 2017.

So even though Jackson knows who he wants Phoenix to choose on June 21, it might not be such an easy decision for the Suns’ front office, which has the No. 1 pick for the first time in franchise history.

If the Suns do pass on Ayton, the Arizona big man would surely get snatched up the division-rival Sacramento Kings with the second overall pick.

Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox would be happy about that, but he doesn’t exactly expect it to happen:
