Jordan Brown to announce commitment Friday, per report
The McDonald’s All-American will be choosing a school shortly. Will it be Arizona?
Five-star forward Jordan Brown will announce his commitment Friday, according to Andrew Slater of The Athletic.
The McDonald’s All-American will choose among the Arizona Wildcats, California Golden Bears, and Nevada Wolf Pack.
Brown is the No. 17 player in the 2018 class and the No. 1 player in the state of California, per 247Sports composite rankings.
Brown recently visited Nevada (unofficially) for the third time, so the Wolf Pack are seen as the team to beat. The Roseville, California native officially visited Cal on Feb. 2.
Brown has not visited Arizona, which probably isn’t a good sign for the Wildcats, though it’s not unheard of for recruits to commit to schools they never stepped foot on (see Kobi Simmons).
Brown would be a tremendous addition to an Arizona frontcourt that could use some more depth and talent, as it consists of Chase Jeter, Ira Lee, and Pitt graduate transfer Ryan Luther.
Arizona’s recruiting class currently ranks 21st in the country, per 247Sports, and it would jump all the way to 7th if it lands Brown.
That’s why this tweet from 247Sports recruiting analyst Evan Daniels is intriguing:
After all that, Arizona is going to end up with a top 10 high school recruiting class & two of the best transfers. Wildcats are back on track.

No matter, we’ll find out Friday where Brown is headed. If Arizona is unable to reel him in, it will likely shift its focus to Kansas prospect Parker Braun.
