Arizona interested in 2018 big man Lukas Kisunas
The 6-foot-8 Lithuanian recently got his release from UConn
The Arizona Wildcats are hoping to benefit from the fallout at UConn.
Arizona has reached out to 6-foot-8, 235-pound Lithuanian center Lukas Kisunas, according to Brewster Academy (NH) head coach Jason Smith.
Brewster Academy center @LKisunas has received his release from #UConn & heard from the following schools this week: Arizona; Georgia Tech; UMass; UNC- Charlotte; UNC-Greensboro; Old Dominion; SMU; South Florida; Stanford. pic.twitter.com/Vl95yLvZ3U

Kisunas was released from his National Letter of Intent after UConn parted ways with now-former head coach Kevin Ollie.
A three-star prospect, Kisunas is the No. 191 player in the 2018 class and No. 13 center.
Per Smith, Kisunas is also hearing from Georgia Tech, UMass, Charlotte, UNC-Greensboro, Old Dominion, SMU, South Florida, and Stanford.
Those aren’t quite the schools Arizona is used to competing with for recruits, but the Wildcats currently have seven scholarships slots open, so they need to add any talent they can get.
Another former UConn signee Arizona is pursuing is four-star point guard James Akinjo, who it visited last week.
The Wildcats are also after several graduate transfers, including:
- Pitt forward Ryan Luther
- Evansville wing Ryan Taylor
- Idaho State center Novak Topalovic
- Albany guard Joe Cremo
- Texas A&M-CC’s Ehab Amin
