The ‘Cats have a solid chance in this recruitment

The Kevin Sumlin era officially starts Monday when the Arizona Wildcats being spring practice, and they will have an important visitor on campus in four-star quarterback Ryan Hilinski.

The Orange Lutheran (Orange, California) talent is the 8th-ranked pro-style quarterback in the 2019 class, and the No. 308 player overall, according to 247Sports. Hilinski is the youngest brother of ex-Washington State quarterback Tyler Hilinski, who commit suicide in January.

Arizona is right in the mix for Ryan Hilinski’s services, and a large part of it is because of his relationship with two members of UA’s new staff.

Hilinski has known quarterbacks coach Noel Mazzone and outside receivers coach Tyler Mazzone for some time. The Mazzones recruited Ryan’s older brother Kelly.

Getting the youngest Hilinski on campus is a major step for Arizona in his recruitment.

He has had quite the offseason, as he has seen his recruiting explode. Hilinski has also been very successful on the camp circuit so far. As of now, he has received quarterback MVP honors at the Passing Down Southwest Regionals, The Opening Los Angeles Regionals, and the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp in Los Angeles.

During his junior campaign for Orange Lutheran, Hilinski went 294-for-421 for 3,749 yards, 33 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions through the air. He also picked up another 80 yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground.

Hilinski has offers from Arizona, ASU, Ole Miss, Georgia, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, and WSU among others.
