Sean Miller watches 2018 guard Devonaire Doutrive
The Arizona head coach is hitting the recruiting trail now that UA’s season is over
What has Sean Miller been up to since the Arizona Wildcats’ season came to an abrupt end Thursday?
Recruiting.
The UA head coach was in Southern California on Saturday night to watch 2018 guard Devonaire Doutrive and Lake Balboa Birmingham compete in the Southern California Division II regional final.
Assistant coach Mark Phelps joined Miller.

Doutrive scored 15 points, but his team lost 54-50 to Santa Monica’s Crossroads School, which was led by UCLA commit Shareef O’Neal who tallied a game-high 18 points.
Doutrive is one of the few 2018 recruits known to be on Arizona’s radar. The 6-foot-5 guard is ranked 82nd in 247Sports’ composite rankings, and has offers from Georgetown, Arizona State, UNLV, San Jose State, and Arizona.
Marred by the federal investigation into college basketball, Arizona currently has zero 2018 commits, but needs to replace seven players so it obviously has a lot of work to do on the recruiting trail between now and May 16’s National Signing Day.
Since high school recruiting has proven to be difficult for the Wildcats, they are expected to be extremely active in the transfer market.
Saturday, they were linked to Evansville’s Ryan Taylor. You can read about him here.
