T.J. McConnell notches first career triple-double in Sixers’ win vs. Knicks

The former Arizona Wildcat had 10 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists, and even 6 steals

The legendary career of T.J. McConnell continues.

Last year, McConnell was showered with MVP chants. Now, he is messing around and getting triple-doubles.

The former Arizona Wildcat notched his first career triple-double Monday in the Philadelphia 76ers’ 108-92 win over the New York Knicks. McConnell had 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists in 37 minutes.

He had six steals too, putting him just four away from a quadruple-double. McConnell became the Philadelphia player ever to post a triple-double off the bench (since 1963-64).

Here are the highlights:

McConnell sealed his triple-double by grabbing a rebound with 1:08 left the fourth quarter. The home crowd erupted immediately. So did the Sixers’ bench.

Two days ago, McConnell scored 17 points in a win over the Los Angeles Clippers. That was one point shy of his season-high.

Thanks to McConnell’s excellent play, Philadelphia has won four straight and moved into 7th in the Eastern Conference, putting them on track to make their first NBA Playoff appearance since 2012.

Between him and Nick Foles, Philadelphia sure is Wildcat Country.
