The Villanova Wildcats and Oklahoma Sooners are considered the frontrunners for the five-star point guard, according to 247Sports.
Arizona is not expected to be in consideration.
The 6-foot-1 Quinerly is the No. 25 prospect in the 2018 class and No. 5 point guard. The New Jersey native decommitted from Arizona on Oct. 19 after an FBI investigation suggested he received payments from recently-fired assistant coach Book Richardson.
Richardson, known for his ability to recruit players from the Northeast, was Quinerly’s primary recruiter, per 247Sports.
Quinerly officially visited Arizona in late June and committed on August 8. Richardson was arrested and charged with fraud and corruption on Sept. 26.
Quinerly was one of several recruits Arizona lost out on because of its involvement in the FBI probe.
Top-10 prospects R.J. Barrett, Nassir Little, Bol Bol, Simi Shittu, and Nassir Little were all considering the UA until the investigation went public.
Arizona currently has the No. 33 recruiting class in the country, per 247Sports. The Wildcats have signed four-star prospects Brandon Williams and Shareef O’Neal, who are ranked 31st and 33rd in the 2018 class, respectively.
The Wildcats are set to graduate four seniors and will likely lose three players to the NBA after the 2017-18 season, so they have plenty of roster spots to fill but not much traction on the recruiting trail.
Arizona recently offered 2018 wings Tevian Jones and Devonaire Doutrive. Jones, a 6-foot-6 wing from Culver City, California, is the No. 111 player in the class.
Doutrive, a 6-foot-5 wing from Van Nuys, California, is the No. 83 player in the 2018 class.
Aside from those two, it is unclear who Arizona is pursuing.
