The 37-year-old joins a young, but promising, Denver team
After being waived by the Atlanta Hawks, Richard Jefferson has agreed to a one-year deal with the Denver Nuggets, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The deal is worth $2.3 million, reports Wojnarowski. Jefferson was traded to Atlanta by the Cleveland Cavaliers in a salary dump Friday.
The former Arizona Wildcat joins an up-and-coming Nuggets team that finished 40-42 last season.
Denver signed All-Star forward Paul Millsap in the offseason, and has one of the best talents in the NBA in center Nikola Jokic, along with promising young players like Gary Harris, Jamal Murray, and veterans like Kenneth Faried, Wilson Chandler, and Will Barton.
ESPN analyst Kevin Pelton projected Denver to get the No. 7 seed in the stacked Western Conference this season.
Jefferson will likely be asked to do similar things he did in Cleveland, which is to provide veteran leadership, space the floor and play adequate defense.
The 37-year-old is a career 37.7 percent 3-point shooter, but shot just 33.3 percent from that distance last season.
