Pima defensive back Haki Woods commits to Arizona

The sophomore has 32 tackles and two pass breakups this season

The Arizona Wildcats have added yet another player to their 2018 class, and this one is right from their backyard.

Pima Community College defensive back Haki Woods committed to the Wildcats Monday, he announced on Twitter.

Woods, a Chicago, Ill. native, is unranked by most scouting services, though 247Sports has him as the No. 1773 player in his class.

Woods is listed as a cornerback by Pima, but 247Sports lists him as a safety, suggesting he can play both positions.

The sophomore has 32 tackles and two pass breakups in five games this season, and will have three years to play two at Arizona.

It’s not clear who else had offered the 6-foot-3, 192-pound defensive back, but Woods tweeted that his decision to attend Arizona was made “two years” ago.

The bad news is he called the UA “Arizona University,” but he’ll learn the proper name soon enough.

Woods is the 14th commitment in Arizona’s 2018 class. The Wildcats recently picked up commitments from running back Martell Irby and athlete Thomas Marcus.
