Chance Comanche to sign with NBA G League’s Memphis Hustle

The former Wildcat has finally found a new home

Chance Comanche has (finally) found a new home.

The former Arizona Wildcat has agreed to sign with the Memphis Hustle of the NBA G League, according to his mother’s Instagram page.

Comanche will be reunited with former Arizona teammate Kobi Simmons, who signed a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, meaning he will be spending most of his season with the Hustle as well.

The reported deal ends a long offseason for Comanche, who went undrafted in the 2017 NBA Draft after surprisingly forgoing his final two years of eligibility at Arizona.

Comanche did not receive an invite to NBA Summer League, instead spending the summer at the Drew League in Los Angeles (and then running up and down a lot of hills).

Assuming G-League salaries haven’t changed drastically since last year, Comanche will earn somewhere around $19,500 to $26,000 in six months with the Hustle.

While people will debate about whether or not Comanche made the right decision to leave Arizona — his mother thought he should’ve stayed in school — the truth is it’s impossible to know either way.

But at minimum, Comanche is getting a chance to develop his game against a higher level of competition while getting paid.

Hopefully he can make the best of it.

The Hustle open their season on Nov. 4 against Sioux Falls.
