Arizona vs. UTEP score predictions

We think Arizona wins this game comfortably

The Arizona Wildcats are in El Paso this weekend to take on the UTEP Miners in a Friday night showdown to wrap up non-conference play.

As this was published, Arizona was a 23-point favorite to beat UTEP. But can the Miners pull off the upset? If not, how much will Arizona actually win by? Will they cover the spread?

We make our predictions below. Be sure to add yours in the comment section below.

Jason Bartel — Arizona wins 70-13

UTEP stinks. The end.

Ryan Kelapire — Arizona wins 52-21

Basically what Jason said. I mean, if UTEP is losing 31-14 to Rice at home (and now without their starting quarterback), Arizona should be able to do better than that.

At this point it would be concerning if this game were close.

Robby Leaño — Arizona wins 49-10

Uh, yeah. I don’t see this game going any other way. Nothing I can say can further the points mentioned above. Arizona may be pretty bad, but it would take a whole new level of bad to lose to UTEP.

Gabe Encinas — Arizona wins 42-6

The defense is going to have some fun with UTEP’s starting quarterback out. If the offense can get things straightened out, this should be a practice game for Arizona.

Don’t overwork guys and get the young ones rotating for experience before heading into Pac-12 play.

Brandon Combs — Arizona wins 63-3

Arizona is better than UTEP.

Christopher Boan — Arizona wins 28-10

I’m still unconvinced that Brandon Dawkins is the man for Rich Rodriguez and company, but UTEP is hot garbage this year, so this is basically a game against a glorified FCS team. I expect Arizona to jump out to an early 14-0 lead, then coast from there, winning comfortably in El Paso. Hopefully we’ll see lots of freshmen playing in garbage time, because they’re going to be sorely needed next Friday, when the Utes come calling.
