Sonoran Hot Reads: Lauri Markkanen 9th-best NBA Draft prospect this year

Also Kobi Simmons is 61st and Allonzo Trier 83rd

On Monday, DraftExpress released a new list of their top 100 prospects for this year’s NBA Draft. There are three Arizona Wildcats, with Lauri Markkanen leading the way in the 9th spot. Behind him are Kobi Simmons (61st) and Allonzo Trier (83rd). These new rankings kind of reaffirm the group that most believe will be leaving Arizona early after this year, but of course, nothing’s ever set in stone until it happens. - Speaking of Trier, Sean Miller made this whole situation even weirder and murkier with a couple of different remarks about the Arizona guard

- There were many games played in McKale on Monday, and for Salpointe’s game, Arizona recruiting target Majok Deng wore UA socks

- Three Oregon players have been hospitalized after intense workouts

- Adoree’ Jackson announced that he will be entering the NFL Draft this year

- 2020 shortstop Sebastian Murillo announced his commitment to Arizona

Other sports

- We wrote about Arizona alum and USF AD Mark Harlan being among the top candidates to replace Greg Byrne. Our friends at The Daily Stampede gave their thoughts on the situation from their perspective. The Memphis and Houston ADs are also up there.
