Sonoran Hot Reads: Arizona signees impress at HoopHall Classic

Some future Wildcats were on display in Springfield

Last year, Arizona Wildcats fans cared about the HoopHall Classic because that’s when Kobi Simmons committed to the program. This year, with most of the class in place, those Arizona signees got to show some of what the future holds for U of A. Adam Zagoria has the details of what DeAndre Ayton, Brandon Randolph, and Ira Lee were able to do in Springfield in front of Book Richardson. The quote that stands out came from Ira Lee:

“We got a chance to win a national championship,” he said. “DeAndre is a big part of that. Honestly, we’re all a big part of that. You know, we all come together, we lock in, that’s a national championship, no doubt.”

- Ayton was the only one named a McDonald’s All-American though

- Aaron Gordon is getting his own shoe from Nike

- The end of the ASU game wasn’t great, but Arizona can’t let that impact this week’s games in L.A. USC just avoided being swept in the mountains with a close win over Colorado, and UCLA became just the second school ever to sweep that trip (we know the other team quite well)
