Arizona football: Cody Ippolito will transfer to Utah
He is looking for a sixth year of eligibility
After exhausting five years of eligibility with the Arizona Wildcats, linebacker Cody Ippolito will seek a sixth year within the division.
He announced on his Twitter that he will be playing for the Utah Utes next year.
Playing my last season at University of Utah. Want to thank Coach Whittingham for taking me into their program. #GoUtes

The Chaparral HS product blew out his knee for the third time in 2016. Once this happened, it was pretty obvious that Rich Rodriguez was not going to let Ippolito seek a sixth year of eligibility at Arizona.
In what ended up being just 27 games played for U of A, Ippolito totaled 80 tackles, two fumble recoveries, and 2.5 sacks.
When it was initially announced that Ippolito would be going elsewhere for his final season, ASU and UCLA were among the other schools he was looking into. Ippolito was content on staying within the division, and will play against Arizona one time. It’s kind of refreshing that Arizona didn’t put any limitations on where they would allow him to transfer.
