Sonoran Hot Reads: Jim Mora reprimanded for calling out Pac-12 officials

Calling the officiating “criminal” got the UCLA coach in trouble

The most interesting first down the Arizona Wildcats got against the UCLA Bruins on Saturday was when Jim Mora was penalized right before Arizona was going to punt. That came after a flag on the Wildcats was picked up. Apparently Mora called the officiating “criminal” in a postgame radio interview, and was thusly reprimanded by the Pac-12 on Tuesday. He also used the end of the Utah/Cal game as an example of the conference’s issues, which Mora is 100% right about:

"Kyle Whittingham is a heck of a football coach and a very smart man, and I saw the words come out of his mouth as he looked at the official: 'This one's on you,'" Mora said. "So, I'm going to press for answers. I think that our players deserve answers. They invest way too much in this game to not have answers. To not have it done the right way. It's criminal."
