Sonoran Hot Reads: Arizona basketball with 14/1 odds to win 2016-17 National Championship

The Wildcats are having some money put on them

The Arizona Wildcats are still bringing a lot of expectations with them into the 2016-17 season despite not actually having their entire 2016 recruiting class on campus. With practice underway around the college basketball world, Bovada put out revised National Championship odds, and the Wildcats are 14/1, the fifth-best mark behind Duke, Kentucky, Kansas and Villanova. Back on April 6th, Arizona had 22/1 odds, so even without Terrance Ferguson, the money is still coming in hot on the Cats

- Who will be the two biggest impact freshmen in this class? According to Jon Rothstein, it’ll be Lauri Markkanen and Kobi Simmons

- However, Rothstein also talked up Parker Jackson-Cartwright on Thursday. All the point guards

- Also, the Cats are ranked 13th in ESPN’s latest national poll. This seems to be right around where most outlets have them

- There are plenty of high-profile recruits coming to Tucson this month

- Brandon gave five Utes that are most likely to have a big impact on Saturday

- Block U is wondering how their team will respond to the Cal loss

- Utah’s linebackers say they are the team’s weakest link, so it’ll be interesting to see how they do against Arizona’s offensive scheme

- Wondering how all the former Wildcats did in MLB play this year? We have that answer

- Terry Francona’s Indians won their ALDS opener against the Boston Red Sox 5-4. The Indians and Nationals are the official AZDS teams for this year’s MLB Postseason
