Arizona vs. Utah: Wildcats unveil uniforms for match-up against the Utes

Arizona is changing it up from last week’s road game

The Arizona Wildcats are on the road for the second week in a row, now heading to Salt Lake City to take on the Utah Utes after a trip to Pasadena last week.

The Wildcats were beaten 45-24 by UCLA in Pasadena, and are hoping they can create some positive mojo with a uniform change.

The Wildcats wore all white against the Bruins, but more blue will be added to the mix this time around, as Arizona plans to wear blue helmets, white jerseys and blue pants against Utah.

Here is defensive end Justin Belknap making the announcement:

The Wildcats have a 7-10 record since 2005 in this uniform combination, and the last time they wore it was last season when they were beaten 38-30 by the USC Trojans in Los Angeles.

The last time Arizona played in Salt Lake City, it trounced Utah 42-10, but the Wildcats were wearing white pants instead of blue pants.

Since we know uniforms play a huge role in the outcome of a game (heavy sarcasm intended), it’s surprising Arizona didn’t decide to wear that uniform combination.

Kickoff at Rice-Eccles Stadium Saturday is set for 7 p.m. PT and the game will be televised on Fox Sports 1.

Arizona has won four straight contests against Utah dating back to 2012.
