Sonoran Hot Reads: Miles Simon wins gold with USA Basketball U17 team

Let’s get some patriotic Arizona news on this 4th of July

It’s the 4th of July, so let’s be patriotic with today’s Sonoran Hot Reads. Former Arizona Wildcat Miles Simon is an assistant coach for the USA Basketball U-17 team, and he is now a gold medal-winning coach. The Americans took down Turkey 96-56 in the Championship Game. After falling behind 8-2 early, Arizona target Kevin Knox hit a three to give the USA the lead for good

- Gabe York had a big Sunday at Summer League, pouring in a game-high 18 points for the Hornets

- Bret Brielmaier is an NBA Champion, and now he’s taking his talents to the Nets’ coaching staff

- The 2017 class now has 21 commitments as Rhedi Short pledged his allegiance to Arizona on Sunday

- Jett Bandy may be heading back to Triple-A soon
