Former Arizona Wildcat Solomon Hill has agreed to a four-year, $52 million deal with the New Orleans Pelicans on the first day of NBA free agency, it was reported by The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Hill, 25, didn't have a spectacular season with the Indiana Pacers in 2015-16, averaging 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, while shooting 44.7 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from 3, but he finished the season on a high-note.

After the All-Star Break, Hill made 41.3 percent of his 3s and in seven games in April, he averaged 12.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game and made 48.1 percent of his 3-point attempts.

Then, in the postseason, Hill averaged 7.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 45.2 percent from the field and 57.9 (!) percent from 3.

The strong finish to the season along with the notion that Hill is considered a plus-defender that can guard multiple positions made him a prime free agent target.

Still, it might seem like $13 million per year for Hill is a ridiculous amount of money, considering he's basically been a replacement level player his whole career, but the NBA salary cap jumped from $70 million to around $94 million this offseason, making this a reasonable deal if Hill can continue the progress he showed at the end of this past season.
