2016 NBA Free Agency: Jordan Hill agrees to a two-year, $8 million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves

The former Wildcat will be a key bench piece to an up-and-coming team

Former Arizona Wildcat Jordan Hill has agreed to sign a two-year deal worth $8 million with the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

Considering the price tag that a player like Solomon Hill cost in this free agency period ($14 million per year), it's a bit surprising to see Jordan Hill only get $4 million per year.

The center has established himself as a solid big man off the bench, with the ability to spot start every now and then. Hill averaged 8.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game with the Indiana Pacers this past season, which are numbers that are nearly equal to his career averages (8.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per game).

The 28-year-old will undoubtedly come off the bench with the Timberwolves behind Gorgui Deng and soon-to-be superstar Karl-Anthony Towns.

Minnesota is a team on the rise given the young talent it has (not just Towns, but Andrew Wiggins, Kris Dunn, and Zach LaVine too), and Hill can not only be a useful player off the bench, but also provide veteran leadership.
