Arizona football: Kendal Franklin announces he will transfer
One linebacker option is leaving Tucson
The Arizona Wildcats will have one less linebacker in 2016 than we thought. Redshirt freshman Kendal Franklin announced that he will be transferring.
Sad to say that I am going to be transferring from the University of Arizona

Franklin came to Arizona as a three-star WDE recruit out of New Orleans, LA in 2015. We chatted with him towards the end of his first fall camp in the system, where he was still adjusting to college life, the playbook, and all of the things you would expect from a freshman.
But by the end of the season, Franklin had latched on to the guy that was the reason he came to Arizona, Scooby Wright.
"He’s good, he’s a tough kid and is obviously a big dude. He just needs some experience," Wright said of the freshman prior to the New Mexico Bowl. "He needs to learn football the way we want to play here."
It appeared during the spring that Franklin would at least be in the mix to be in the linebacker rotation this year. Incoming freshman Kahi Neves and Cal transfer Michael Barton were likely to keep him out of getting significant reps though. Now, it seems he’ll have to find that experience he needs elsewhere.
This is also super unfortunate because he has a Block A tattoo on his left arm.
