2016 MLB Draft results: Arizona commit Samad Taylor drafted in 10th round by Cleveland Indians
The second Arizona commit to be drafted.
Samad Taylor, an Arizona Wildcats commit out of Corona, CA, was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 10th round of the MLB Draft.

The Indians drafted him as a shortstop, but there's reason to believe that he'll move to the other side of the infield.
#Arizona commit. Think he ends up at 2B, tries to make some plays harder than they actually are. https://t.co/ykVJBpMkBq

Taylor hasn't been rated by Perfect Game since November 1st, 2014, but did earn a 9.5 out of 10 that one time. During the Area Code Games last year, he did this quick Q&A with Baseball America, where we learned that he loves crawfish. Too bad he wasn't on the team this year to take in this two weekend stint in the south.
The slot value for Taylor's draft position is $156,600. That makes it interesting to see if he'll choose college over heading straight to the minor leagues. Arizona certainly needs elite middle infielders next year with Cody Ramer set to graduate.
