Arizona football recruiting: 3-star defensive end J'Bril Glaze thinks highly of Wildcats

Arizona has made a good impression on this solid defensive line talent

The Arizona Wildcats have been trying to fill the void on the defensive line, searching for both size and versatility. There are currently two defensive line commits for the 2017 class, both of which are defensive tackles. Arizona is in play for quite a few defensive ends as well, with J'Bril Glaze giving the Wildcats a close look.

I got a chance to talk to J'Bril Glaze about his recruitment with Arizona.

Out of Tampa, Florida, Glaze checks in at 6-foot-3, 250 pounds. The 3-star defensive end holds over 17 offers including Michigan State, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech, among others.

Despite the lofty list, Glaze tells me that Arizona is definitely in the top 10 right now, possibly even his top six.

"I was pretty excited. It seems like a great place to play," when asked about his initial thoughts on the offer.

Only two of his offers come from west of the Mississippi River, Arizona and Colorado State. That's quite a long way from Florida and location will play a small factor when it comes to deciding. But he says there's one factor that comes to mind.

"Mostly I'm looking for what scheme the defense runs and how they plan on fitting me into the defense," Glaze said.

When I asked him what the coaching staff had said about their new defensive scheme and how he fits, the need for defensive linemen was evident. The staff told him "that I could come play right away."

Coach Jahmile Addae has been his lead recruiter, also hailing from Tampa, Florida, and he's checked in on Glaze multiple times. Glaze plans to visit campus sometime soon, whether unofficial or official, he's still unsure. But he does know that he's going to take his time with his recruitment to see what else is out there.

This past season for Jefferson High School, Glaze had 40 stops and nine sacks for a total loss of 91 yards in his eight games played.

His junior year highlights are below.
