Sonoran Hot Reads: Arizona Women's Golf advances to NCAA Championships

A nice showing from one of the Arizona golf teams this year

After leading through the first two rounds, the Arizona Wildcats women's golf team finished up Regional play with an overall score of +9, good enough for second place, advancing them to the NCAA Championships. Of the 18 teams in the field, the final round score of 297 was the fourth-best. Unfortunately for Arizona, No. 6 Georgia was eight shots better, giving them a sweep of the team and individual championships. Arizona will open NCAA Championships play on May 20th in Eugene, Oregon

- Sand Volleyball's season came to an end on Saturday, falling to Hawaii 3-0 in the inaugural beach volleyball championships. The Witt twins are still pretty awesome though

Baseball

- Arizona clinched another home series with a 4-1 win over Oregon State. The Wildcats are essentially battling Washington to be the conference's best team

- A couple players that played under Jay Johnson at San Diego faced each other in an MLB game when Kris Bryant batted against Sammy Solis. Bryant walked and later scored for the Cubs

- The SEC got weird on Saturday. In a battle of top-five teams, Texas A&M no-hit Vandy. Then there was a possum delay in the Arkansas/LSU game. The Rally possum is real though:

Softball

- Oregon State evened the series thanks to Arizona stranding tons of baserunners
