Arizona football recruiting: 3-star outside linebacker Tony Fields commits to Wildcats
Things are going to continue heating up for Arizona.
The Arizona Wildcats landed a commitment from the eighth member of the 2017 recruiting class Saturday afternoon. A little unexpected here, as Tony Fields, a 3-star outside linebacker out of Las Vegas became the fifth defensive commit of the class.

Fields held offers to Boise State, BYU, Illinois, Missouri and Oregon State, among others. He's a 6-foot-2, 200 pound outside linebacker out of Desert Pines (Las Vegas, Nevada). As of now, he fits the Paul Magloire mold of a hybrid linebacker/safety, which is something that has become increasingly popular over the last few years.
On defense this past season, Fields racked up 93 tackles to go along with three sacks and two interceptions. His junior year highlights are below.
I'm not entirely sure where Arizona's scholarship number lines up for this recruiting class, but things are going to be heating up pretty soon with the commitments, giving them a strong lead for the 2017 class.
