2016 NFL Draft results: Cayleb Jones signs with Philadelphia Eagles as undrafted free agent
Cayleb will try to carry on his family's legacy
After deciding to forego his senior season with the Arizona Wildcats, wide receiver Cayleb Jones went undrafted, but has latched on with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jones is certainly not the first member of his family to get a chance to play in the NFL. His father, Robert Jones, played for the Dallas Cowboys, St. Louis Rams, Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys over the course of a ten year career. Cayleb's uncle also happens to be Jeff Blake, who started 100 games at quarterback in the league for four different teams. Blake was throwing passes to Cayleb at Arizona's Pro Day.
Originally from Austin, Texas, Jones started his college career with the Longhorns, before some legal troubles led to him deciding to start fresh elsewhere.
He transferred to Arizona, joined by Texas teammate Connor Brewer. The two sat out the 2013 season, but it was Jones that would leave his mark in 2014.
Jones instantly became Arizona's most prolific receiver, catching 73 balls for 1,019 yards in his first year in Rich Rodriguez' system.
Big things were expected in 2015, but with inconsistent quarterback play combined with Pac-12 defenses focusing on taking him away, Jones' numbers dropped in his redshirt campaign. He managed to get to 55 catches and 904 yards despite an extremely slow start to his final college season.
With the dip in production, it became a little more unclear whether or not Jones would declare early for the draft or not. But it didn't take long to get our answer. On December 27th, he officially decided to leave Arizona.
It'll be interesting to see how Jones performs against bigger, more physical NFL defensive backs when he gets to training camp. Hopefully he can make the Eagles' roster though and carry on the family tradition.
