Sonoran Hot Reads: Arizona coaches hit the recruiting trail

It's live

The recruiting live period is back on, and the Arizona Wildcats coaching staff was out in full force on Thursday. Here's just a sampling of some of the visits they made:

- It was not just in-home visits going down though. Jessie Britt announced that he will be visiting Tucson this weekend, as did Clifford Chattman

Emmanuel Beal has Arizona in his final three schools, along with Louisville and New Mexico

- Mel Kiper's first mock draft came out, and no sign of Scooby Wright. He has UCLA linebacker Myles Jack going 10th overall

Basketball

- The new rules are having the intended effect on the game

- Those rules sort of helped Arizona get 99 points against Washington on Thursday

- During the game, we got some big news as Ohio State has dropped out of Kobi Simmons' recruitment. Simmons is scheduled to announce his decision Saturday evening sometime after 4 PM MT on ESPNU

Baseball

- I think Sawyer Gieseke will be a critical piece to Arizona's success this year

Other sports

- Women's basketball plays Utah on Friday

- Track starts the indoor season at NAU on Saturday

Tucson news

- Sun Tran fare enforcement officers start riding buses Friday

- Marana had a mobile home park explosion. One man has extensive burns
