Arizona basketball: Ryan Anderson on Wooden Award watch list

Arizona has one guy up for the player of the year award

The midseason Wooden Award Watch List is out, and the Arizona Wildcats are represented by senior forward Ryan Anderson on the 25 man list.

Here's a look at the entire list:

While Anderson struggled against USC, the Boston College transfer has still been the most consistent player on this team all year, averaging 14.4 points and 10.4 rebounds per game in his only season as a Wildcat. His eight double-doubles are tied for 15th-most in the country.

There are only two other Pac-12 players on the 25-man list. They are Jakob Poeltl from Utah, and Gary Payton II from Oregon State. Poeltl is averaging 17 points per game and 9.4 boards. Payton is putting up a ridiculous 17.1 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 5.4 assists per contest as well.

Anderson's scoring may see an uptick as Allonzo Trier misses the next month or so, and Arizona looks to compensate for the 14.8 points that the freshman was contributing each game.

The Wildcats take on Washington in their next game on Thursday night at 7 PM in McKale Center.
