Arizona basketball: Wildcats in the NBA Power Rankings

It's no secret that the Arizona Wildcats have a long, rich history of players in the NBA. Every player on this list has accomplished a tremendous amount just making it into the league, but once a player is there the length of a career is determined by production. Here's how the Arizona alumni have performed so far this season:

1. Andre Iguodala - Golden State Warriors

• Change from previous ranking: +1

• Season Stats: 9.0 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 4.3 APG, 49.4% FG

• The Warriors are undefeated, Andre is playing significant minutes, and his brand of all-around basketball ensures the top spot in the power rankings.

2. Jerryd Bayless - Milwaukee Bucks

• Change from previous ranking: +1

• Season Stats: 12.6 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 3.7 APG, 43% FG

• What is shaping up to be a stellar year for Jerryd cannot be ignored. The Bucks are relying heavily on him and he's producing, shooting a career-best 46% from 3-point range so far this year.

3. T.J. McConnell - Philadelphia 76ers

• Change from previous ranking: +3

• Season Stats: 6.5 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 6.9 APG, 50% FG

• Top-10 in the league in assists per game is studly, but the losses have to be killing the competitive McConnell. Let's hope the 76ers can feel the joy of a win at least once this year.

4. Jordan Hill - Indiana Pacers

• Change from previous ranking: +3

• Season Stats: 8.3 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 1.5 APG, 37.8% FG

• His production per minute played has been excellent. He is Top-15 in the league in rebounds per 48 minutes.

5. Aaron Gordon - Orlando Magic

• Change from previous ranking: -4

• Season Stats: 8.8 PPG, 5.1 RPG, 1.3 APG, 44.6% FG

• Aaron's production hasn't been bad, and his fall in the rankings is a result of others playing better. But his long-range shooting woes (23%) aren't doing him any favors. I can hear the words 'stop shooting the 3 pointer, big man' ringing through the Magic's practice facility. He should listen.

6. Richard Jefferson - Cleveland Cavaliers

• Change from previous ranking: +3

• Season Stats: 8.1 PPG, 1.5 RPG, 0.8 APG, 45.6% FG

• Richard is logging significant playing time on a team favored to win a title. As long as that's the case, he will continue rising in the power rankings.

7. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson - Brooklyn Nets

• Change from previous ranking: -2

• Season Stats: 3.9 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 1.5 APG, 50% FG

• RHJ's offensive production is a handicap to his playing time. He has the work ethic to improve, and his defense and rebounding should ensure a long NBA career.

8. Stanley Johnson - Detroit Pistons

• Change from previous ranking: no change

• Season Stats: 7.1 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 1.2 APG, 36.8% FG

• Stanley's shooting percentage is all over the map. One game he shoots 55% and the next game game he shoots a sickly 27%. The Pistons will await consistency in his play, as his upside is significant.

9. Derrick Williams - New York Knicks

• Change from previous ranking: -5

• Season Stats: 7.3 PPG, 2.3 RPG, 0.8 APG, 36% FG

• Derrick's position in the power rankings has fallen along with his playing time for the Knicks. The decrease in playing time is a disturbing trend.

10. Channing Frye - Orlando Magic

• Change from previous ranking: +2

• Season Stats: 7.8 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 0.7 APG, 50% FG

• Channing's playing time has increased along with his production. He is now contributing at the level the Magic had hoped when they signed him as a free agent.

11. Jason Terry - Houston Rockets

• Change from previous ranking: -1

• Season Stats: 4.4 PPG, 0.6 RPG, 1.1 APG, 41.2% FG

• The JET went off against the Dallas Mavericks for 19 points on 60% shooting from the field. It was a pleasure seeing him perform at a high level again.

12. Chase Budinger - Indiana Pacers

• Change from previous ranking: -1

• Season Stats: 3.9 PPG, 2.1 RPG, 1.4 APG, 40.5% FG

• Chase has been shooting well from long-range (38%) since the last power ranking, but slight overall contribution isn't enough to maintain his previous ranking.

13. Solomon Hill - Indiana Pacers

• Change from previous ranking: no change

• Season Stats: 2.0 PPG, 0.5 RPG, 0.0 APG, 40% FG

• Solomon actually played in a game on November 16th, logging 13 minutes and scoring 4 points. It was his first action of the year.
