Washington State vs. Arizona: Cayleb Jones, Jeff Worthy, and Nate Phillips are the Wildcats' Players of the Game in the loss to the Cougars

Despite the loss, a few Arizona players managed to play well

The Arizona Wildcats may have lost to the Washington State Cougars, but a few Wildcats still performed well. Here are this week's Players of the Game:

Offense: Cayleb Jones

Cayleb Jones finally had a solid game this season, snagging eight receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown.

Solomon was definitely looking to him more today, and Jones was able to come down some nice grabs. But it was Jerrard Randall who threw the touchdown to Jones. It's been a disappointing season for Cayleb Jones given the expectations he had at the beginning of the year, but he has had a couple of good games in a row now.

Defense: Jeff Worthy

Typically, the Arizona coaching staff doesn't pick a player of the week for a certain position if they do not perform well. This is one of those cases. But props to Jeff Worthy. He is now the team's leading sack leader with three on the season. He also forced a fumble, which was unfortunately recovered by Washington State, but still a good play regardless.

Special Teams: Nate Phillips

Nate Phillips' 69-yard punt return could have been huge for Arizona. It tied the game up at 14 with 12 minutes left in the half, and could have been the lift that Arizona needed. Unfortunately, Shun Brown's fumble on a kickoff later killed the momentum that Phillips' play provided.

Arizona's last two touchdowns off of punt returns have come against Washington State -- DaVonte' Neal had one against them last year -- so if Phillips was primed for a big return, this was his game, and he delivered.
