Sonoran Hot Read: Arizona's front court among the best in the nation

A lot of senior leadership down low this year

While there are still many questions to be answered about this year's Arizona Wildcats team, one group of guys has been getting a lot of praise, and that's the senior-heavy front court. Rob Dauster of College Basketball Talk ranks the group the 12th-best in the nation. What's fun for the Wildcats is that they play three of the eleven teams ranked ahead of them (Gonzaga - 1, Utah - 8, UNLV - 10). It'll be interesting to see how this plays out, especially with Ryan Anderson and Mark Tollefsen having never played in a Pac-12 game.

- The Arizona coaching staff seemed to have been all over Southern California visiting recruits on Wednesday

- Aaron Gordon did some things to the Wizards

Sean Elliott is now on Twitter, so go follow him!

Football

- Rich Rodriguez is relying heavily on that one psychology class he took in college all those years ago to get through the low times right now

- Pitt writer Chris Dokish thinks RichRod will be at Virginia Tech next year. Jason Scheer has found another reason why that won't happen. VaTech is not the school to worry about, and never has been

- Washington should be excited to see Arizona's icky defense according to Christian Caple. He's not wrong

- Trey Griffey was the victim of this week's "Day in the Life"

- There are more issues for the Wildcats than just quarterback, but that doesn't mean that Jerrard Randall can't be the answer

Baseball

- Mark Melancon was awarded the Trevor Hoffman NL Reliever of the Year Award. So much Arizona in that award this year

Other sports

- You have to check out the costume contest at soccer practice. They head to Colorado and Utah this weekend

- The Daily Wildcat says volleyball needs to step it up in the rest of Pac-12 play. Here's an update from volleyball practice this week

Men's tennis is off to Las Vegas for the weekend

- There are 15(!) softball games going down at Hillenbrand this weekend

- Cross country will be competing in the Pac-12 Championships this weekend in Colfax, WA

Tucson news

ASU ran an ad in the Daily Wildcat. I would laugh at that, but I know that happens occasionally on this fine site as well

- The Dean of the College of Pharmacy was indicted on sexual assault charges on Wednesday

- This came on the 13-year anniversary of the College of Nursing shootings

- A Tucson-based company is taking steps towards space tourism

- Congrats on not having a ton of college debt after graduating everyone

- Vero Amore doesn't want you Yelping about them. I've never been so I don't know if this place is actually good or not
