Sonoran Hot Reads: Shaquille Richardson signs with Arizona Cardinals

A Wildcat goes to Glendale

The Arizona Cardinals already have former ASU running back Marion Grice on their roster, so they had to even it up a little bit and add Shaquille Richardson. Shaq was drafted by the Steelers last year, but was cut at the end of the preseason. He also spent a little bit of time on the Chiefs roster this offseason.

- Speaking of former Wildcats, B.J. Denker has made his way to Texas A&M and is the Offensive Graduate Assistant Coach. Good for him. He deserves it.

- More good news for Arizona quarterbacks as Anu Solomon's mother is now cancer free.

- Our friends at Mountain West Connection have an Arizona preview to get ready for the game at Nevada

- RichRod told a hilarious story of Mike Leach swimming in a lagoon, and the visuals can be kind of scarring. That was not the only funny thing that coach did at Pac-12 Media Days.

- It's probably time for the Arizona coaching staff to focus all of its recruiting efforts on Brandon Burton

Basketball

- Kyle Fogg will be playing for his share of a million dollars on Sunday

- Unfortunately, Stanley Johnson's mother, Karen Taylor, passed away on Saturday.

- 2016 point guard Frank Jackson cancelled his visit to Arizona. However, 2016 big man De'Ron Davis has Arizona in his top three with Indiana and Texas. Also, Finland power forward Lauri Markkanen has Arizona in his top three, along with Utah and UNC.

- Go behind the scenes at this year's green screen photo shoot

Baseball

- Scott Kingery is still getting used to playing pro ball. He also lends some insight into what those few weeks were like between the end of the season and the draft.

Other sports

- Women's golf signed top amateur Haley Moore

- Men's tennis added three transfers

Tucson news

Bus strike coming?

- Too much sad news with shootings going on around town this weekend. Let's get less of that going on from here on out.
