Sonoran Hot Reads: Red/Blue Game set for October 17th

Basketball trying to get back in the headlines

It's been a while since we've had a reason to really talk about Arizona Wildcats basketball, so they released the date of the Red/Blue Game on Thursday. The scrimmage will take place on October 17th at a time yet to be determined. Tickets for the event go on sale September 5th at 10 a.m.

- The Arizona coaching staff is checking out some of the future talent in Las Vegas

Football

- Anu Solomon added another award watch list when he was named to the Peyton Manning Award watch list. ESPN has Arizona as a school in "great shape" at quarterback

- We spend the 42nd day from football season by remembering the 42 points put up against ASU last year

- Mickey Baucus is holding the Territorial Cup in the picture of the ASU piece. He retired from the NFL Thursday due to back and knee issues. His agent seems to think that Arizona's offense helped prolong his football career, which is interesting

- Arizona is honoring Triple Crown trainer Bob Baffert at the Utah game. I came up with ten things they should consider doing

- Recruiting has slowed down the past couple days, so here's Gabe's breakdown of three-star defensive end commit Jake Burton

Baseball

Kevin Newman stole home again

- Arizona got two commitments with 2016 INF Tommy Acuna and 2017 LHP Josh Haley
