Arizona Football Countdown: 42 days, scoring 42 points to beat ASU and win the Pac-12 South

48-39-1

November 28th, 2014 was a beautiful day. The day that Arizona beat Arizona State to reclaim the Territorial Cup and win the Pac-12 South.

Probably the most memorable play of the game came in the opening drive, where Scooby Wright III came up with the forced fumble to allow Anthony Lopez to scoop it up and take it into the end zone. That, by far, had to be one of the loudest moments in Arizona Football history.

Samajie Grant played the game of his life, putting the moves on for a 69 yard touchdown in the opening quarter for his first of two touchdowns on the day. Nick Wilson exploded in the third quarter for a 72 yard touchdown run. He went on to finish with 24 carries for 178 yards and three touchdowns. Despite nursing an ankle injury and being questionable for the game, Anu Solomon went 15/21 for 208 yards and two touchdowns.

Arizona State had to pull Taylor Kelly out of the game in an attempt to mount a comeback after going scoreless in the third quarter. To this day, if you listen close enough, you'll hear ASU fans say that if Mike Bercovici had started the entire game they would have won. Coulda, shoulda, woulda.

Arizona leads the series 48-39-1.
