Pac-12 North and South Standing Predictions

Utah is no longer a bottomfeeder and the Pac-12 North is looking weak

Pac-12 Media Days are coming up later this week, which means the Pac-12 preseason media poll will be coming as well. I went through all 12 schedules, handing out wins and losses to each team after every week. Here are the results.

Oregon Ducks	11-1
Stanford Cardinal	7-5

Washington State Cougars	4-8
California Golden Bears	3-9

You might be thinking, what are Arizona's losses here? I marked them down as the game at USC and at Arizona State. It's painful to think about another loss in Tempe, but with 12 straight games, in one of the toughest places to play in the Pac-12, it'll be tough for Arizona to push through the always hard-fought Territorial Cup game.

The Pac-12 South is loaded. Utah is no longer a push over in this conference and should be taken seriously, especially in games at Rice-Eccles Stadium. UCLA returns a lot of starters, but they'll be running with a true freshman quarterback, albeit the No. 1 pro-style quarterback recruit for 2015. USC always has the hype around them and have been mildly disappointing, falling short of expectations. This year, I think Cody Kessler leads the Trojans to a Pac-12 Championship, over Oregon.

The Pac-12 North, according to this predictions, seems like the punching bag of the Pac-12 South. Maybe I don't give the north enough credit, but it's hard to think that Oregon State can be successful without Sean Mannion, nine new starters on defense, and a new head coach taking over a program that was in good hands under Mike Riley.

As much as I think Jared Goff can be successful in this conference, California has a brutal schedule, as they include Texas in their non-conference, and a stretch at Utah, at UCLA, USC and at Oregon. Ow.

Washington had three first round picks on defense and only managed to win eight games. Without their starting quarterback, who retired from football, and their three defensive stars, it's hard to see them improving in 2015.

The Pac-12 preseason media poll will be coming out soon, so we'll keep our eyes peeled to see how the media stacks up the Pac-12.
