Greg Byrne suggests nine ways to change college basketball

A lot of these should definitely happen

As Sean Miller was leading the USA U19 team to a gold medal in Greece, he had a supporter in the stands. That supporter was Arizona A.D. Greg Byrne, and he noticed some rule differences in the international game that he would like to see adopted by the NCAA.

Here's the nine that he listed that he would like to see considered.

1. Widen the key & extend 3 pt line to FIBA rules, creates more space for offensive drives & post players.

2. Players can’t call timeouts, defense gets offensive player in tough position & they can’t bail out w/a TO.

3. TO called by bench under 2 min & ball is advanced to ¼ court but inbounds can’t be thrown into back court.

4. 8 second back court rule instead of 10 5. 5 seconds to shoot FT’s instead of 10. 6 Shot clock to 24 seconds (NCAA just moved it to 30)

7. Shot clock resets to 14 seconds on an offensive rebound 8. Technical for flopping in the post

9. Last one – I loved the atmosphere that was created w/ "artificial noisemakers." It shouldn’t be a free for all....

but the USA vs. Greece game atmosphere was outstanding.

Frankly, I like all of these except the last one. Anything to keep the pace of game moving and to get rid of flops. And I'm not the only one that likes these.
