Arizona football recruiting: JJ Taylor likely to commit to Arizona after his visit

Another running back for the class of 2016 could be coming soon

Arizona already has two running backs in the 2016 recruiting class and is about to add another one soon after this weekend.

3-star running back JJ Taylor stands in at just 5-6 155lbs, but is as explosive as anyone on the field. Ranked No. 20 among all-purpose backs, Taylor is a quick back that can make guys miss in the open field. That's music to Rich Rod's ears.

He currently holds offers to Nevada, Ohio, Washington State, among others, and will be visiting Tucson this weekend. "Hoping to talk to some of the current players and to get a feel for the staff." he said about his upcoming visit.

"I like pretty much everything about the school," Taylor said about Arizona. I'm going next week and I plan on doing it after I'm done with my visit," when asked about his timetable to commit.

Barring any unforeseen event, Taylor will commit to Arizona. "Well I talked it over with my parents and it's a good place for me to be on my own and still close to home, so yes," when asked if Arizona was going to be his decision.

This would be a nice get for Arizona that wasn't really expecting, considering that he was offered just last month.

His speed and explosiveness will allow him to thrive in the Rich Rodriguez offense, as he could play a role similar to that of Noel Devine did back at West Virginia.

This leaves the backfield with plenty of valuable depth going forward.

Nick Wilson will have at least two more seasons as the featured back, with Jon Haden making the switch to running back and incoming freshman Orlando Bradford, who is expected to get some reps this season. Add the commitments of Sean Riley and Russell Halimon for 2016 and the backfield has six valuable weapons. "It's gonna be something special!" Taylor added.

Taylor should be just one of many commitments this weekend. Stay tuned.
