Arizona football recruiting: Boss Tagaloa includes Arizona in top 12 list of schools

Top 10 defensive tackle in the country lists Tucson as a potential destination

Arizona has been recruiting hard on the defensive side of the ball this offseason. They have offered three top defensive tackles this past week in Cameron Murray, Jay Tufele and Greg Rogers. Arizona is picking up some momentum here, as Boss Tagaloa just released his top 12 schools, which included Arizona.

Tagaloa holds over 15 offers to schools including Alabama, Michigan, Stanford, and UCLA, among others. The 4-star defensive tackle comes in at 6-3 295lbs out of De la Salle High School (Concord, CA). He's ranked as the No. 9 recruit in California and No. 9 among defensive tackles across the country. Among all recruits, he ranks 57th nationally.

Now, his last name might sound familiar, as Arizona has Freddie Tagaloa, 6-8 316lb offensive tackle. But, there is apparently no relation between the two, which is a bummer. Freddie could have been a huge influence in Boss' recruitment, especially considering the fact that they could play against each other for one season.

Landing Boss would be a huge get for Arizona. Not only would it be sweet to have a guy named Boss on the roster, but he's massive. He's bigger than every defensive lineman on Arizona's roster except for freshman Sharif Williams.

Arizona already missed out on Khalil McKenzie, 5-star defensive tackle ranked No. 6 in the nation among all recruits in 2015. It came down to Arizona and Tennessee, where he eventually decided to follow the footsteps of his father and Oakland Raiders GM, Reggie McKenzie. We'll see what Matt Dudek and company bring out to make a push in Boss' recruitment.
