Kaelin DeBoskie to transfer from Arizona

Arizona's deep group of receivers has caused another receiver to leave the program

Kaelin DeBoskie's name is no longer listed on the roster. It was announced earlier this week that he will leave the program and seek a transfer. Rated a three-star recruit out of Salpointe Catholic, DeBoskie had offers to Colorado, Oklahoma State, and West Virginia, among others.

This isn't the first time receivers at Arizona have left under Rich Rodriguez. Last summer, we saw a productive receiver in Garic Wharton leave the program, who just couldn't get enough reps on the field. A few months later, Clive Georges left the program, who is now at North Dakota.

The sheer depth at receiver is starting to push some of these receivers out. It's a relatively young group of receivers as well, with David Richards being the lone senior. And with Samajie Grant, Nate Phillips, Tyrell Johnson and Jonathan Haden working out of the slot, and an increase in reps for Tony Ellison this spring, DeBoskie had a long way to go if he ever wanted to see the field.

Rich Rodriguez is also starting to develop a strategy for tight ends, spreading it out in the passing game. With guys like Trevor Wood, Darrell Cloy Jr., Matt Morin and Josh Kern, Rodriguez is looking to expose Pac-12 defenses with their size and speed.

Arizona also brings in three receivers from their 2015 recruiting class in Shun Brown, Darrell Clark and Cedric Peterson.

Although, instead of transferring, DeBoskie could have opted to follow the footsteps of DaVonte' Neal and Johnny Jackson, who both switched over to defense. Both felt that the switch was necessary to contribute more to the team. Neal is now in the mix for a starting corner spot opposite of Jarvis McCall and Johnny Jackson has been learning the safety position, while contributing on special teams as well.
