Arizona Football Recruiting: Wildcats offer Lamar Jackson and Korey Banks

It's time to start recruiting on the defensive side of the ball for 2016

The Arizona Wildcats have recently sent out offers to two three-star players on defense in Lamar Jackson and Korey Banks. As of now, Arizona only has one commit for 2016 on the defensive side of the ball, which is an issue that Rich Rodriguez is currently working on.

We'll start with Lamar Jackson, a 6-3 205lb athlete out of Elk Grove, CA. He was offered by Arizona as a safety and ranks 44th in the nation among all defensive backs and 484th among all recruits in the nation. He currently holds offers to Arizona State, Boise State, Michigan, and USC, among others.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have any highlights of him playing safety, but there is footage of him playing quarterback and running back for what it's worth. His junior year highlights are below.

Next comes Korey Banks, a 6-1 180lb cornerback hailing from Tyrone, GA. Banks comes in ranked 81st in the nation among all cornerbacks and 849th in the nation overall. He's been gaining some attention lately as he was recently offered by Michigan just last month and took an unofficial visit to Michigan State. The offer from Arizona marks his first offer from the Pac-12.

What's interesting about Banks is his home state. This now marks the second prospect out of Georgia, the first being Russell Halimon, who has already pledged his commitment to Arizona. Although Halimon is currently unranked, it was interesting to see Arizona recruiting him so heavily. Yes, Halimon will definitely climb the ranks his senior year, but it also seemed as if the Arizona coaching staff was starting to infiltrate Georgia. This offer gives us some promise of a wide-reaching recruiting pipeline in the south.

Banks only has highlights of him outside at receiver and back returning kicks and punts. Here are his junior year highlights.
