It’s hard to make any kind of predictions about the Arizona Wildcats because they have 10 new players and “might be the least experienced” team Sean Miller has coached, but KenPom released its preseason ratings on Tuesday night and they check in at No. 38 in the country.
That’s the fifth-best mark in the Pac-12, behind Oregon (21), UCLA (28), Stanford (32) and Arizona State (36). KenPom also rates Arizona as the 53rd-best offensive team and 23rd-best defensive team in the country.
That’s a pretty big regression from 2019-20 when Arizona finished the season 19th in KenPom—35th on offense and 14th on defense.
KenPom also predicts Arizona will split its first two conference games, giving them a 66 percent shot of beating Colorado at home but only a 40 percent chance of defeating Stanford on the road.
