Eagles safety Will Parks out multiple weeks with hamstring injury

Will Parks may have to wait to make his Eagles debut.

The former Arizona Wildcats safety suffered a hamstring in training camp and is expected to miss four to six weeks, according to NFL Network’s James Palmer, who noted Parks has a history of beating timetables.

The Eagles are scheduled to open the 2020 season against the Washington Football Team in less than two weeks.

Parks signed a one-year, $1.6 million deal with his hometown Eagles this offseason after spending his first four seasons with the Denver Broncos, who selected him in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Parks has appeared in 62 career NFL games (15 starts), racking up 149 tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles and a sack.

Our friends at Bleeding Green Nation say Parks was getting a lot of reps with the Eagles’ first team defense in a sub-package role.

“He was looking good there in addition to being active on special teams,” wrote Brandon Lee Gowton. “Him being out for ‘multiple weeks’ hurts the Eagles’ safety depth and could force rookie K’Von Wallace into a bigger role. Philly also might decide to keep five safeties on the 53-man roster. Rudy Ford, Marcus Epps, and Grayland Arnold are the guys on the bubble in that situation.”
