The Arizona Wildcats have struggled to land prospects from their home state in the 2021 recruiting cycle, but they bucked that trend Thursday when they received a commitment from three-star running back Stevie Rocker.
The 6-foot, 185-pound ballcarrier is the No. 105 running back in the 2021 class and No. 18 player in Arizona, according to 247Sports composite rankings. Ranked 1,187th nationally, Rocker is the sixth-highest ranked commit in Arizona’s class.

Rocker is UA’s 15th 2021 commit but first from Arizona. He attends Oro Valley’s Canyon del Oro High School—the same school that produced UA all-time rusher Ka’Deem Carey—where he has racked up 1,534 rushing yards over the past two seasons despite missing a big bulk of his junior year (2019) with an ankle injury.
As a healthy sophomore in 2018, Rocker rushed for 1,163 yards and seven touchdowns on just 130 carries. He also caught five passes for 183 yards and three touchdowns.
Rocker picked his hometown Wildcats over Nevada, Cal and BYU. In 2021, he will join a crowded Arizona running back room that could include Nathan Tilford, Michael Wiley, Bam Smith, Jalen John, Frank Brown and fellow 2021 commit Montrell Johnson.
We will have some analysis on Rocker later. For now enjoy his 2019 highlights.
