The Arizona Wildcats are trying to tap into two successful talent pools it has pulled from in recent years with its most recent scholarship offer to 5-star forward Kendall Brown.

The 6-foot-7 Brown currently plays for Sunrise Christian in Kansas, the same school that produced Dusan Ristic (as well as Purdue graduate transfer center Matt Haarms, who the Wildcats reached out to on Monday). Before that Brown played high school ball in his native Minnesota, from where Arizona plucked Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Zeke Nnaji.

Brown is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 16 player in the 2021 recruiting class as well as the fifth-best small forward and the No. 1 prospect in Kansas. Arizona is his 19th Division I offer, with 247Sports listing his main suitors as Arkansas, Kansas, Marquette, Minnesota and Ohio State.

Brown’s 247Sports scouting report reads as follows:

Extremely athletic with good length for a wing. Very quick getting off the floor. A finesse slasher type player. Has ability to finish tough shots. Not a long range shooter at this point. Handles and passes well. Serves as secondary ball handler. Disruptive and versatile defender. Improving shooting range is key to his development.

Arizona is still looking for its first commitment in the 2021 recruiting class but over the weekend 5-star forward Paolo Bancheco added the Wildcats to his list of finalists.

Work also continues on trying to put together the rest of the 2020 class, both with transfers and high school signees. On Monday the Wildcats got a commitment from Seattle graduate transfer guard Terrell Brown, their second transfer addition, while 4-star Minnesota guard Kerwin Walton has the UA in his final 6.
