No, Nico Mannion has not declared for the NBA Draft yet

Bleacher Report sent out a push notification Sunday morning that said Arizona freshman Nico Mannion has declared for the NBA Draft, but a quick investigation proves it was premature.

Bleacher Report was citing a report from NBC Sports, which was citing a report from the Associated Press, which was referring to a comment Arizona coach Sean Miller made in January when he said “we’re going to lose Nico” while discussing the addition of Georgetown transfer James Akinjo.

Mannion is almost assuredly going to leave the Arizona Wildcats after one season, but we’re not at the point where it is official yet.

His father, Pace, confirmed to Sam Vecenie of The Athletic that Nico will decide after the season. Most outlets project he will be a lottery pick.
