Arizona guard Max Hazzard out again vs. Washington

The senior has missed three of the last four games

Max Hazzard participated in Senior Day ceremonies Saturday, but did so in street clothes and was nowhere to be seen when the Arizona Wildcats tipped off against the Washington Huskies.

The UA guard was out for the third time in four games for what head coach Sean Miller has described as “personal reasons” and it is unclear when—or if—Hazzard will return this season, though not sitting with his teammates during the game seems like an ominous sign.

Without him, the Wildcats are down to eight active scholarship players. Fellow senior Chase Jeter is serving a two-game suspension, on track to return for the Pac-12 Tournament next week.

Arizona has been a streaky 3-point shooting team and Hazzard’s absence strips them of their second-best marksman. He shoots 38 percent from 3, not even a percentage point lower than Stone Gettings.
