Arizona Wildcats guard Aari McDonald has been named an AP second-team All-American, the first UA player to earn that title.

Last season, the redshirt junior was an honorable mention, the first Wildcat since Davellyn Whyte (2012) to be named an All-American.

McDonald was the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and a member of the conference’s all-first team. She led the Pac-12 in scoring (20.6) and steals (2.3) per game.

McDonald is also a finalist for the Ann Meyers Drysdale award given to the nation’s top shooting guard. You can help her win that by voting here.

McDonald still has to decide if she wants to return for her redshirt senior season or declare for the WNBA Draft, which, for now, is scheduled for April 17.
